Rio Tinto has introduced this Portal to allow businesses to view expressions of interest (EOIs) for goods and / or services required by Rio Tinto from time to time, and to allow eligible businesses (ie. those that have completed the registration process) to submit responses to those EOIs.
Rio Tinto will decide, in its absolute discretion, which businesses that have responded to an EOI will be invited to respond to a Request Document issued by Rio Tinto for the supply of goods/services that it requires (which may be through a request for information (RFI), a request for proposal (RFP), a request for tender (RFT) a request for quote (RFQ) or any other form of request document issued by Rio Tinto).
Uploading or posting a response to an EOI does not guarantee that Rio Tinto will invite you to respond to a Request Document or that Rio Tinto will ultimately issue you with a Purchase Order or enter into a Contract with you. Rio Tinto reserves its absolute discretion in respect of these matters and will have no liability to you as a result of any decision to award or not award a contract to you.

Le projet se décompose en trois (3) phases distinctes : 1.Préparation de site et démolition Dans un premier temps, l’empreinte de la future berme empiète sur plusieurs infrastructures existantes telles que la rue Drake sur une longueur de ± 500 m.lin. Il faut donc effectuer une préparation de site et une phase de démolition pour permettre l’implantation de la nouvelle berme. De plus, un chemin secondaire devra être mis en place dès le départ pour assurer une bonne circulation sur le chantier et permettre de garder la station de gaz d’Énergir, présente à proximité du chantier, accessible en tout temps. 2.Berme stabilisatrice Dans un second temps, les travaux civils pour la construction de la berme pourront débuter par l’excavation de la clé de cisaillement et du remblayage de celle-ci avec un matériau d’emprunt de type pierre dynamitée 0-600 mm. Un drain en pied de la berme sera à installer. Il est important de mentionner que, pour cette étape, une largeur d’excavation maximale de 50 m est tolérée, puisque les excavations seront au pied de la digue (éviter de créer des points de faiblesse sur la stabilité de la digue actuelle). Par la suite, une autre partie des travaux consiste à remplacer les regards (6) du système de drainage existant des eaux de résurgence de la digue. Ce drain de captage est conservé et doit être protégé lors des excavations. Pour le remblai de masse, la géométrie de la berme est constituée de quatre (4) paliers distincts, et une séquence de travaux sera établie afin de construire un palier à la fois. 3.Aménagements finaux 3.1. La dernière phase des travaux concerne principalement la modification du drainage de l’intersection de la rue Drake et de l’Usine de Filtration des Résidus de Bauxite (UFRB). La mise en place de la berme impacte le réseau de drainage de lixiviat de la route de contingence. Il faut donc reconstruire une partie de ce réseau pluvial. 3.2. De plus, une reconstruction complète de la rue Drake est planifiée sur l’un des paliers de la berme. 3.3. Le projet engendre des volumes importants de déblai de 2e classe. Ceux-ci, selon leur critère de contaminant, pourront être réutilisés pour la construction d’un mur coupe-son, localisé à proximité de la barrière Ouest du SDRB. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The project involves installing a stabilizing berm made of blasted rock fill to comply with an internal standard that is more stringent than current legislation. The supply of blasted rock fill materials is a critical point for the project. The project is divided into three (3) distinct phases: 1. Site Preparation and Demolition First, the footprint of the future berm overlaps several existing infrastructures, such as Drake Street over a length of approximately 500 linear meters. Therefore, site preparation and demolition work must be carried out to allow the installation of the new berm. Additionally, a secondary road must be established at the outset to ensure proper traffic flow on the site and maintain continuous access to the Énergir gas station located near the work area. 2. Stabilizing Berm Next, civil works for the berm construction will begin with the excavation of the shear key and its backfilling using borrowed material consisting of blasted rock (0–600 mm). A toe drain for the berm will also be installed. It is important to note that a maximum excavation width of 50 m is allowed for this step, as the excavations will be at the toe of the dike (to avoid creating weak points that could compromise the stability of the existing dike). Furthermore, part of the work involves replacing six (6) manholes of the existing drainage system for seepage water from the dike. This capture drain will be preserved and must be protected during excavations. For the mass backfill, the berm geometry consists of four (4) distinct tiers, and a work sequence will be established to construct one tier at a time. 3. Final Arrangements 3.1 The last phase mainly concerns modifying the drainage at the intersection of Drake Street and the Bauxite Residue Filtration Plant (UFRB). The installation of the berm affects the leachate drainage network of the contingency road, so part of this stormwater network must be rebuilt. 3.2 Additionally, a complete reconstruction of Drake Street is planned on one of the berm tiers. 3.3 The project generates significant volumes of Class 2 excavated material. Depending on contaminant criteria, these may be reused for constructing a sound barrier located near the West Gate of the SDRB. |
